1. Introduction

These Consumer Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase of cinema tickets through icelandcinema.com (“Iceland Cinema”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By purchasing a ticket via icelandcinema.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Services

Iceland Cinema provides ticket sales for:

• In-person film screenings

• Special cinema events

• Film premieres and festival screenings (where applicable)

All services are provided at a physical cinema venue.
No digital streaming or subscription services are offered.

The location, date, and time of each screening are clearly displayed prior to purchase.

3. Pricing

• All ticket prices are clearly displayed before checkout.

• Prices are shown in [ISK].

• VAT and applicable taxes are included where required by Icelandic law.

• The final total is shown before payment is completed.

We reserve the right to change ticket prices for future screenings.

4. Ordering and Payment

To purchase a ticket:

1. Select the screening date and time.

2. Select the number of tickets.

3. Provide required contact and payment details.

4. Confirm payment.
    

Payments are processed securely via certified third-party payment providers.

Upon successful payment:

• A confirmation email is sent to the email address provided.

• A digital ticket or QR code is issued.

• Entry is granted upon presentation at the venue.

The ticket is valid only for the specific screening purchased.

5. Delivery and Fulfilment

Tickets are delivered electronically via email.

Delivery is considered complete when:

• The confirmation email is successfully sent to the purchaser.

The service is considered fulfilled when:

• The scheduled screening takes place at the stated date and location.

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cinema ticket purchases are considered leisure services provided on a specific date.

6.1 Customer Cancellation

Tickets are generally non-refundable.

Refunds will only be provided in the following circumstances:

• The screening is cancelled by Iceland Cinema.

• The screening is significantly rescheduled or relocated.

• A duplicate or erroneous charge occurred.

• Required by mandatory consumer protection law.

If a customer cannot attend, tickets may be transferred to another person unless otherwise stated.

No refunds are provided for:

• Change of mind

• Late arrival

• Failure to attend (no-show)

6.2 Cancellation by Iceland Cinema

If a screening is cancelled:

Customers will be offered:

• A full refund, or

• Transfer to an alternative screening (if available)

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

6.3 EU Right of Withdrawal

Under Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to:

Leisure services related to events provided on a specific date or period.

Therefore, cinema tickets for scheduled screenings are exempt from the 14-day withdrawal right.

7. Entry and Venue Rules

Entry may be refused if:

• The ticket is invalid, altered, or duplicated.

• The customer violates cinema rules.

• The customer engages in disruptive or unsafe behavior.

No refunds will be issued for refusal of entry due to rule violations.

Recording, filming, or redistributing the screening is strictly prohibited.

8. Intellectual Property

All films and related content shown at Iceland Cinema are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

Unauthorized recording, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Iceland Cinema is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

• We are not responsible for personal property lost at the venue.

• Our total liability shall not exceed the ticket price paid.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights under Icelandic or EU law.

10. Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellation or delay due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

• Natural disasters

• Government restrictions

• Technical failures

• Public safety emergencies

In such cases, refund or rescheduling decisions will be made in accordance with applicable law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Iceland.

EU consumers may also access the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
